Eid Al Adhuha Celebration

May 8 - June 7

Eid Al Adhuha is a meaningful religious event hosted by Ssekanyonyi Islamic Orphanage, bringing together Muslims from the community to observe the sacred act of animal sacrifice in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and obedience to Allah. The event focuses on fundraising efforts aimed at slaughtering at least one cow, with the meat shared among orphans, the needy, and community members. Alongside the sacrifice, participants enjoy special meals, engage in prayers, and celebrate the values of generosity, sacrifice, and unity. This gathering strengthens bonds within the community and promotes compassion, cooperation, and care for those less fortunate.
